Renée Montano

You could think of Renée Montano as a Renaissance woman.

Born in the twin island republic of Trinidad and Tobago, Renée attended both Bishop’s Junior and High Schools before attending Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. There, she completed her BSc. in Psychology. She then went on to further her studies for a Diploma in Communications Studies at Concordia University in Montreal, Canada.

Renée progressed through several senior corporate roles in public relations and brand management. And while she credits her decade-plus journey in the corporate world with honing her skills in management and leadership, she always knew she wanted to explore a different path.

The opportunity would come during her first visit to India in 2012. While planning her brother’s wedding there, she was introduced to Ayurveda, an ancient form of natural medicine practiced for over 3,000 years. She had found her calling.

In 2013, Renée boldly decided to leave her secure corporate career to pursue studies in health and wellness. She became a certified massage therapist and expanded her knowledge by traveling to India to explore Ayurvedic centers in Goa and Bangalore. Later, Renée attended the School of Ayurveda and Panchakarma Kannur in Kerala, where she completed training in Ayurvedic Massage and Panchakarma Therapy, Ayurvedic Beauty Therapy, and Ayurvedic Pregnancy Care and Baby Massage. She is also a graduate of the California College of Ayurveda and is a certified Ayurvedic practitioner.
In 2021, Renée became a certified classical hatha yoga teacher with the Isha Hatha Yoga Foundation. She also attended the Inner Engineering program designed by the internationally renowned yogi, Sadhguru. Through this program, she has gained a deeper understanding of yoga as it pertains to the body, mind, emotions, and energies, ultimately leading to her living a more fulfilling life. Renée has also been an integral part of Save Soil, a global movement initiated by Sadhguru to draw the world’s attention to the crisis of soil.
Renée considers herself fortunate to be supported through her journey by her family. “My family is my strength. I strive to be a loving wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and mother to all. I consider these among my most important roles.”
